The Fifth Annual Salt & Smoke Festival

It’s time to celebrate fall so Chef Kevin Callaghan and his team at Acme Food & Beverage Co. are ready to party at the fifth annual Salt & Smoke Festival on Saturday, November 4th.  The event takes place at Rock Quarry Farm in Orange County from 3 to 8PM.

The first Salt & Smoke, in 2013, at John Soehner’s Eco Farm, started with the idea of an outdoor party with a big pot of collards, cornbread, oysters, wine and a roaring fire.  Last year there were Salt & Smoke events from Oahu, Hawaii to Quebec, Canada celebrating fall and the rich traditions of the South.  This year there will be whole-hog barbecue from Firsthand Foods, oysters on the half shell from Shooting Point Oysters, bourbon mashed sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, hoppin’ John, dessert at the “Smores” gasboard, wine, beer, and local whiskey cocktails with great live music.  According to Chef Callaghan, you should, “think of it as your notion of a perfect autumn day.  Then multiply that by ten.” I don’t know about y’all, but I’m sold.

There are several ticket options and kids under 5 are free. Come out and celebrate crisp weather and falling leaves and get your South on!
