The Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club is hosting several dining events this May, including a Teacher’s Day Dinner, Derby Day at the Inn, and a Mother’s Day Brunch and Champagne Celebration.
What’s better than an apple on a teacher’s desk? How about dinner at the Fairview Dining Room? To celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Day, if you purchase one full-priced dinner entrée, your guest, with their valid teaching ID, will receive their dinner entrée on the house. Show your family, friend, or co-worker how much you appreciate their hard work, dedication, and patience. The dinner takes place on Tuesday, May 2nd and reservations can be made through Open Table or by calling 919-493-6699.
On Saturday, May 6, spend all day celebrating the most exciting two minutes in sports. The day starts off with a Derby Day Brunch from 10:30 AM to 2 PM in the Fairview Dining Room. Then from 2:30 to 4:30, there’s a hat and gloves Derby Afternoon Tea. The Derby Dinner at Dusk takes place from 5:30 to 6:30. Then at 6:34, the 143rd Run for the Roses takes place. There will also be Derby coverage in the Bull Durham Bar and Fairview Dining Room 11AM-7PM for Kentucky Derby nerds like myself. Fun fact: Secretariat ran the fastest Kentucky Derby Time at 1:59 2/5 minutes in 1973 on his way to winning the Triple Crown. And speaking of the Triple Crown, there will be Triple Crown cocktails available for your sipping pleasure, as well.
On Sunday, May 14, treat yourself and your mother to the Fariview’s Mother’s Day Brunch and Champagne Celebration. Brunch includes an amuse bouche, appetizer, an entrée, and dessert. Make brunch special this year by letting executive chef Jason Cunningham create a sumptuous meal and then top it off with some bubbly champagne. This weekend is also commencement weekend at Duke, so reservations will be going fast.
Reservations for all of these events can be made through Open Table or by calling 919-493-6699. The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club is well known for its luxury, attention to detail, and beautiful facility and grounds. It is the winner of the AAA Four Diamond Award, Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Award, and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. It is located on the grounds of Duke University.
