Give thanks to family and friends this year by serving them a local Thanksgiving feast! On Tuesday, November 26th, farmers’ markets across the Triangle will host special pre-Thanksgiving markets. Prepare your Thanksgiving feast with fresh, local ingredients by shopping Tuesday at the following markets:

Market vendors have been planting and planning in order to satisfy all your Turkey Day needs. There will be creamy cheeses for hors d’oeuvres, green beans, broccoli, sweet potatoes, salad greens, and, of course, potatoes for the mashing. Local bakeries will bring airy loaves, flakey pies, beautiful cakes, and an assortment of other pastries. Not to mention your centerpiece, a humanely- and locally-raised gobbler.

About the Farmers’ Markets and the 10% Campaign
All the markets are grower only/producer only markets, which means that all the foods are grown by area farmers and all the crafts made by local artisans. Each market supports local, sustainable agriculture and provides the Triangle with access to healthy, local, sustainably grown and produced foods.

Wednesday Market Hour: 3:30-6:30pm through Nov. 20th
Saturday Market will be OPEN Saturday, November 30th following Thanksgiving.

Carrboro, North Carolina, is home to the nationally recognized Carrboro Farmers’ Market. Recently highlighted by Bon Appétit, Outside Magazine, and Martha Stewart’s Good Food Magazine as one of the top markets in the country, Carrboro Farmers’ Market celebrates its 35th season in 2013. The Carrboro Farmers’ Market is truly a farmer-owned and operated market. The vendors themselves produce all goods sold at the Market. Everything comes from within a 50-mile radius of Carrboro. Located at the Carrboro Town Commons, adjacent to Town Hall at 301 West Main Street, the Market serves the Carrboro community and Triangle area. The Market is open Saturdays year-round and operates from 7am-Noon April-October and 9am-Noon November-March. The Wednesday Market runs from 3:30pm-6:30pm April –November 20th.

Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market
Pre-Thanksgiving Market hours: 2:00-5:00pm
Winter Market Hours: 9:00am-Noon
Saturday Market will be CLOSED Saturday, November 30th following Thanksgiving.

Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market was started in April 2008 by Farmers of Orange, a state non-profit organization created for local farmers by local farmers. Every dollar spent goes directly to our farmers and artisan vendors. The Saturday market is 8 am-noon, April-November, 9:00am-noon December-March. The Tuesday market is open from 2-5pm, May-November.

Chatham Mills Farmers’ Market
Pre-Thanksgiving Market: WEDNESDAY, Nov. 27, 12-3pm
Chatham Mills Farmers Market will also be hosting a pre-Thanksgiving Farmers market, on Wednesday Nov. 27th from 12-3 at Historic Chatham Mills in Pittsboro. The market is open on Saturdays, 9am-1pm during the month of November and our Winter Market hours are 12-3pm from December-January.

Durham Farmers’ Market
Pre-Thanksgiving Market Hours: 2:00-5:00pm
Saturday Winter Hours: 10:00am to Noon
Saturday Market will be CLOSED Saturday, November 30th following Thanksgiving.

The Durham Farmers’ Market is held in the Pavilion at Durham Central Park in the heart of downtown Durham and has been featured in the New York Times, Bon Appetit, and Organic Gardening. Opening in 1999, the Durham Farmers’ Market is an all local, producer-only market. It started with s a small group of dedicated farmers and grown into a large, diverse group of farmers, bakers, artisans, and crafters. Our 70 vendors, all of whom are located within 70 miles of the market, sell only items which they have produced. The market is open Saturdays, year round, from 8:00am to Noon (10am to Noon in the Winter months) and Wednesdays 3:30 to 6:30pm, April through mid- October. Market is open rain or shine!

Durham Market

Fearrington Farmers’ Market
Pre-Thanksgiving Market hours: 4pm until…
The Fearrington Farmers’ Market is a growers only market that is located in Fearrington Village off of 15-501. It is 8 miles south of Chapel Hill and 8 miles north of Pittsboro. The Fearrington Farmers’ Market is open every Tuesday from April through Thanksgiving.

Midtown Farmers’ Market

Pre-Thanksgiving Market: Saturday Nov 23rd, 10am-Noon
Off Season Pick Up: November 2, 2013 to April 12, 2014 (closed December 28, 2013), 10am to Noon 2014 Regular Season Hours: April 19 to November 1, 8am to Noon

South Durham Farmers’ Market
Pre-Thanksgiving Market hours: 3:00-6:30pm
Saturday Winter Hours: 9:00am-12:00pm
Saturday Market will be CLOSED Saturday, November 30th following Thanksgiving.

The South Durham Farmers’ Market is a year-round market, located in Greenwood Commons Shopping Plaza, 5410 NC Hwy 55. There are 35+ vendors all producing within 50 miles of the market; many are new and emerging farmers. We are all about building community, hosting local musicians and activities for kids each and every week!

Winter Market Hours: Nov. 2 – March 29, 10am-Noon
Special Holiday Market: Sat., Dec. 7th, 9am-2pm. Closed December 14th
Saturday Market will be CLOSED Saturday, November 30th following Thanksgiving.

Over the years, the Wake Forest Farmers’ Market has grown into a lively community event each Saturday morning. We offer our own fresh-off-the-farm produce; pasture-raised beef, poultry, and pork; free-range eggs; fresh and dried herbs; honey, jams, and preserves; fresh-cut flowers; and delicious baked goods. The majority of our farm products are raised using environmentally sustainable agricultural practices, which are healthy for the soil, water, air, animals, and YOU!

Saturday Market will be CLOSED Saturday, November 30th following Thanksgiving.

WWFM is in its fifth season in Cary at Carpenter Village Marketplace (1225 Morrisvile Carpenter Rd.), and is open year-round on Saturdays. The market is open from 8:00 am-12:00 pm April-November and 9:30 am-12:00 pm December-March, rain or shine. The market’s mission is for all people in the community to become educated about and benefit from locally grown food.
