Already known as a “one of the Triangle’s daytime spots,” The Old Granary has taken on a new look, new menus and new hours. The new Fearrington Granary, featuring Contemporary American Cuisine, will open for Lunch Monday-Saturday, 11:30am – 2pm, Sunday Brunch, 10am-2pm, Dinner Monday-Saturday, 5pm-9pm. A new bar has been added where guests can enjoy small plates and libations anytime. Bar hours are Monday-Saturday, 11:30am – 9pm.
Chef Colin Bedford maintains his commitment to sourcing food locally and providing guests with the freshest products available. The new menus include small plates and salads, burgers and sandwiches and several main dish options. For dinner, Chef Colin has added items from the grill with various sides to choose from. I promise, you’ll be back again and again!
Looking over the lunch menu, several items catch my eye; Roasted Beet Salad with Goat Cheese, Candied Pecans and Sherry Dressing, Twice-Baked Goat Cheese Souffle with Roasted Beets (Yes, I love beets), Crab Chowder, Flatbread with Pulled Pork, Sweet Onion Puree, Pineapple Chutney and Ranch Romaine and finally, the eye popping “Farmhouse” Burger, 8oz Angus Burger, House Cured Pork Belly, Fried Egg and Steak Sauce (they had me at pork belly).
The dinner menu is equally exciting with the addition of grilled items and choice of sides. Guests choose an item from the grill, including Honey Glazed Pork Chops, Grilled Mahi Mahi, Seared Salmon and Grilled Tenderloin to name a few. Top it off with your choice of sauce such as Bearnaise, Peppercorn Cream or The Granary Steak Sauce and then add two sides.
As always, Fearringtion offers a “diverse list of cocktails, draft and bottled beers, and wines hand-picked by Sommelier Max Kast.”
And of course you can never put far from your mind the wonderful Brunch menu, best shared in the company of friends and family for a delightful lazy Sunday.
